New Spine Physician to Join SOS
Orthopedic Spine Surgeon, Richard J. DiStefano, M.D. will join Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists on October 1st, 2011 to continue his practice of spinal surgery and treatment of degenerative and post-traumatic disorders of the spine. Dr. Richard DiStefano’s twenty two year experience in the field, compliments the group’s team of board certified Orthopedic Spine Specialists. Dr. DiStefano earned his medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical Center in 1989 and became a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Prior to medical school, Dr. DiStefano earned a chemical engineering degree from Yale. Today, Dr. DiStefano is an attending Physician at Crouse Hospital and focuses his practice around the surgical disorders of the spine. He also practices general orthopedic surgery including trauma fracture care, joint reconstruction and replacements, arthroscopic surgeries of the shoulders and knees and hand surgery. We are excited to welcome him back to SOS! Dr. DiStefano will have office hours at our SOS Spine Center and our 8276 Willett Parkway, Baldwinsville N.Y. office in October of 2011.

Our in-house Workers Compensation Coordinator, Patti Rath, SOS Nurse Case Manager Diana Jones, RN, CCM and hardworking w/comp team are employee (patient) advocates and liaisons. They will ensure communication is timely and facilitate necessary information to our patients, insurance companies, or case management so treatment is not delayed. Committed to helping our patients lead normal, active lives, we will work with our patient’s employer to make return to work safe and manageable for the injured worker. |
